Poison Control on speed dial.

Thursday was a super busy day for me, I had vt appointments and a planning meeting for enrichment in the morning. It was good to visit with my sisters and help plan a fun enrichment for September. I got home fed the boys, and put them down for their afternoon naps and took care of some stuff around the house. I was excited all day for the dinner we were having with the sisters in the ward. It seems like it has been a long time since I have just sat and visited with other women, so I was so excited. Marty came home early from work, he has been working on a project in the garage, so he headed out there after he ate some lunch. The boys woke up, and we all headed outside. I pushed the boys on the swings for a while then, they wanted down to play. I was pulling weeds and cleaning up some stuff and "watching Tyson", I turned my back on him(we were both on the lawn) I turn around and he is munching on something, I took the rest of it out of his hand and it was a mushroom(the kind that grow in grass after monsoon storms). I have been very vigilant about getting them out of the grass when I see them because I just knew if Tyson ever saw one he would eat it, well I missed one and he found it. I freaked out, ran and got Marty, he called Poison Control, they said he would probably start throwing up, and that he had to take a picture of it and email it to them. My first thought, no second thought was great now I get to spend the evening at the hospital, not at the relief society dinner. Is that horrible of me or what? Tyson did not start throwing up, he was starving because it was dinner time and we didn't want to let him eat anything until we heard back. They called back a few minutes later and said it was most likely nonpoisonious, but that they were going to email the pic to a mushroom doc to determine if it was, thank goodness he said it was nonpoisonious also. In the end everything worked out, Tyson was ok, and I got to go and have a nice relaxing dinner with the ladies in the ward. Seriously though, I think I will put Poison Control on speed dial.

These things I know
If a child eats their own poop it is totally safe
if a child eats dog poop it is not a huge deal - just drink lots of water
if a child eats shampoo, conditioner, hair gel - just drink lots of fluids and watch them closely
all from seperate incidences that neccesitated calls to poisen control! Aren't you glad we have them on our side!?
Sorry this happened! Luckily it all turne out ok and I am sooo sad I missed the dinner - I totally spaced it!

Scary! I'm glad you could come that night--we had a great time, didn't we?

Also, I have to tell you that my daughter wants to be Marty's best friend. She LOVES his "baby backhoe" and begs to get one for herself. Every time we pass your house she gushes over it. Then the other day Dylan and Marty were on it and she was dying. Sounded just like some little girls sound gushing over babies. It really is hilarious. I meant to tell your husband in nursery today, but forgot. So tell him for me! He's got a new best friend! :)
